Weddings require two people! Much of the planning seems to fall on the brides shoulders but there are things that a groom should do for a wedding that will lighten the load on the bride. Of course the groom should take responsibility for him and his groomsmen.
The last thing a bride needs to worry about is whether the groom and his groomsmen are going to have their clothing for the wedding in time. The groom should take full responsibility for his clothing AND his groomsmen’s clothing. The groom should get the best suit he can afford, after all the bride will be spending a fortune on a dress! If you have zero budget go to ebay!
Other Things a Groom Should Do
A groom should be involved every step of the way. Even if he is there just to sit and nod it will make the bride feel better! Of course it is the grooms wedding as well and he should be an active participant in the planning.
Most grooms are not that interested in choosing the floors or the other little details that make a wedding memorable but there are still areas where they should be active. Picking the music can be a great way to help out. Picking a photographer is another task that a groom can step up and help out with it.
Plan the Honeymoon
A good way to contribute to the planning is to step up and make the arrangements for the honeymoon! Planning the honeymoon and making the reservations can be time consuming so a groom should pick up that task to help out with the wedding plans. It also makes a wonderful wedding present so you get to kill two birds with one stone! Surprise your bride with a great honeymoon!
The Rehearsal Dinner
Typically it is the grooms responsibility to throw the rehearsal dinner. This dinner is usually the day before or a couple of days before the wedding. Basically it is a meal given in honor of the bridal party as a way to say thank you. It is also a way for the two immediate families to come together and enjoy each other’s company before the wedding chaos begins!
Bridal Party Gifts
It is tradition to present the bridal party with small tokens of appreciation. The groom should be responsible for buying the groomsmen’s gifts.
There are plenty of things that a groom should do for a wedding because it is half his event. A groom that helps out with his own wedding is setting the pace for a happy marriage.
